Access Statement for Wick House

The entrance from the road has one shallow step up and two down onto the verandah.

From the verandah through the front door and into the hall is level. From the hallway, the sitting room and the bar are also on the same level. The main staircase is also accessed from the hall.

Although the staircase has four turning steps and is quite narrow, we have fitted handrails on both sides for ease of access.

There are four guestrooms on this floor. The two double rooms have a very shallow step up. Once you are in these rooms the bathrooms are en suite and on the same level.

The super king and twin room are all on the same level. It is worth noting that Wick house is a very old house, although all the floors in the bedrooms have been levelled, a small area of the landing does slope very slightly.

Back down stairs, from the bar there are two very shallow steps up to the dining room with handrails, through to the television lounge and into bedroom nine is all on the level.

Room nine is the room that has wheelchair access directly from the car park via a gentle slope straight into the bedroom. There is a grab rail next to the outside door. Room nine also has a wet floor shower room en suite also with grab rails.

We are fully aware that not all people with disabilities have the same needs. So we strongly recommend that anyone wishing to stay at Wick House with disability needs, should ring to discuss what facilities are available.
